Dynaudio Core 7 Studio Monitor

The Dynaudio Core 7 Studio Monitor reproduces what was recorded, nothing more, nothing less. And you know the truth when you hear it.

Dynaudio Core 7 Studio Monitor

Dynaudio Core 7 – Trust is critical in this business. Whether you’re recording a power trio or an orchestra, mixing a solo voiceover or a video-game soundtrack, or mastering a full immersive audio project like a Dolby ATMOS mix, you need monitors that reproduce everything you need to hear, flaws and all.

Dynaudio Core 7 has been developed with industry professionals to meet these needs. As the most compact model in our high-end professional reference monitor series, this no-compromise two-way design features two class-D amplifiers (a 500W amp for the mid/woofer and a 150W unit for the tweeter), the best in modern DSP technology, and a flat bass response down to 38Hz – 31kHz ±6dB and 45Hz – 27kHz ±3dB.

Specifically designed to meet the challenges of high-demand environments, Dynaudio Core 7 is ideal for recording engineers, mixers, producers, and editors who work all day, every day.

Each driver unit is handmade in our factory in Denmark. With the production of 1.4 million drivers annually for home hi-fi, custom-install, in-car, and pro-studio markets, we ensure extreme consistency. This makes it possible to use Core monitors in multiple studios, all performing at the same high level.

Dynaudio Core 7 builds on our heritage of soft-dome tweeters, providing hours of pinpoint imaging and detail without the listener fatigue common to other designs. The Esotar Pro tweeter, the latest breakthrough from our engineers, takes tweeter design to a new level with the revolutionary Hexis system. Hexis optimises airflow, smooths frequency response, and eliminates unwanted internal resonances, resulting in jaw-dropping imaging, transient detail, and effortless high-frequency response.

The mid/woofer driver is another leap forward. Using our proprietary MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) cone material, aluminium voice coils, glass-fibre formers, and advanced magnet designs, it delivers deep, accurate bass and natural midrange detail, all in one driver for the best imaging and point-source delivery.

The Core 7 features advanced digital signal processing, building on the renowned AIR series. Our acoustic engineers have taken 18 years of DSP innovation and applied it in a simple, easy-to-use system with the Core series.

Each Dynaudio Core 7 has two DSP filter switches to address its position and boundary locations. For example, if placed on a meter bridge, set them to ‘Desk’ to compensate for reflections. If mounted in a wall, use the ‘Soffit’ setting for increased bass response. The Position 2 filter can be adjusted between ‘Wall’ or ‘Corner’ to compensate for reflections, especially in the lower frequencies. An 80Hz Linkwitz-Riley cutoff can be engaged if using Dynaudio Core 7 with a subwoofer.

Dynaudio Core 7 also uses the LYD series Sound Balance filter, a different design from typical shelving-EQ adjustments. Instead of simply adjusting the tweeter level, Core 7 uses a full-spectrum band-pass filter that tilts the frequency response. In the ‘Dark’ setting, 20kHz is down -1.5dB and 20Hz is up +1.5dB; in the ‘Bright’ setting, the tilt is reversed. This gentle filter maintains the proper phase response while providing the desired tonal response.

Dynaudio Core 7 offers a range of 0dBu to +24dBu to match input sensitivity. It processes all analogue signals at a 192kHz sampling rate and 64-bit resolution for precise DSP performance. When using the AES digital inputs, you can select the channel (left or right) and the maximum output SPL. Dynaudio Core 7’s DSP locks to the AES clock or incoming word clock, maintaining accurate signal processing without sample-rate conversion.

The Dynaudio Core 7’s cabinet is designed to be stiff and inert, with a 32mm thick baffle ensuring excellent linearity across the spectrum. It can be used in various orientations, with special pads to protect the finish and prevent vibrations.

Dynaudio Core 7 is designed for maximum flexibility and performance in recording studios, edit suites, broadcast trucks, mobile facilities, broadcast and theatrical dub stages, immersive audio mixing rooms, and custom installations. Its compact size and superb performance make it ideal for use with Core 59 monitors in calibrated multi-channel systems. Stop second-guessing. Core delivers everything you need to hear.
