d&b Audiotechnik 30D Amplifier

The 2 RU, four-channel d&b Audiotechnik 30D Amplifier is optimised for permanent installations requiring medium to high Sound Pressure Level (SPL) capabilities.

d&b Audiotechnik 30D Amplifier

The d&b Audiotechnik 30D Amplifier includes advanced input management features, such as separate Input Gain control for each channel, General Purpose Inputs/Outputs (GPIO), and a General Fault connector. Enhanced system status monitoring, including Input and Load monitoring, ensures reliability in emergency situations.

The d&b Audiotechnik 30D Amplifier shares the latest Digital Signal Processing platform found in the most recent d&b amplifiers, supporting configurations for all d&b loudspeakers and a linear mode. Its integrated DSP offers full loudspeaker management with switchable filters and user-defined equalisation and delay. Each channel features two 16-band equalizers, with parametric, asymmetric, shelving, or notch filtering options, and delay settings up to 10 seconds (equivalent to 3440 m/11,286 ft).

Accessible via the d&b Remote network, the 30D connects through Ethernet using the Open Control Architecture protocol (OCA) or CAN-Bus with RJ45 connectors. Control options include the integrated web interface, accessible through a browser, or d&b R1 Remote control software. LED indicators on the device display power, input, data, and mute status.

The d&b Audiotechnik 30D Amplifier also features the LoadMatch function, which compensates for loudspeaker cable properties, optimising performance without additional wiring. Equipped with Class D amplifiers and a power supply with active Power Factor Correction (PFC), the 30D supports mains voltages of 100 V/127 V and 208 V/240 V (50 – 60 Hz), maintaining stability even with weak or fluctuating mains power. All input and output connections are Euroblock sockets.

Input Routing
The d&b Audiotechnik 30D offer four analogue inputs, four AES/EBU digital channels across two inputs, and separate analogue and digital links, all using Euroblock connectors. Each digital input pair includes independent Sample Rate Converters, while each input has a separate gain control, allowing sources with different output levels to connect directly without an external mixer. All eight inputs can be used simultaneously, summed, and routed to any of the four output channels.

System Status Monitoring
d&b amplifiers are equipped with features to monitor, check, and control a d&b system in installation settings. The System check function assesses the entire reinforcement system by measuring impedance across connected loudspeakers, comparing each driver’s impedance to the default for each cabinet model. This calibration ensures each loudspeaker functions within tolerance and alerts to potential component damage. Input monitoring detects an incoming pilot signal on any input, while Load monitoring checks load impedance automatically, identifying driver malfunctions and reporting failures.

GPIO and General Fault Contact
The d&b installation amplifiers feature separate Euroblock connectors for General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) and fault contact. The GPIO connector provides five configurable pins, which can serve as either inputs or outputs, enabling external control and monitoring of amplifier functions, such as powering the device, muting channels, switching AmpPresets, or checking mains voltage and channel status. The fault contact separately indicates any general device error for remote monitoring.

Integrated Web Interface
The d&b Audiotechnik 30D amplifier includes an integrated web interface, allowing for individual amplifier control via a standard web browser. In smaller setups, this provides direct control of each device without needing an R1 Remote control software file. Connecting the amplifier and computer to the same Ethernet network, these amplifiers can also be controlled via mobile devices when using a wireless access point.
