d&b Audiotechnik 10D Amplifier

The 2 RU, four-channel d&b Audiotechnik 10D Amplifier is tailored for permanent installations with lower Sound Pressure Level (SPL) needs.

d&b Audiotechnik 10D Amplifier

The d&b Audiotechnik 10D Amplifier features advanced input management with separate Input Gain control for each channel, General Purpose Inputs/Outputs (GPIO), and a General Fault connector. Enhanced system status monitoring, including Input and Load monitoring, ensures reliability in emergency scenarios. The 10D shares the latest Digital Signal Processing platform found in the newest four-channel d&b amplifiers, providing configurations for smaller d&b loudspeakers as well as a linear mode.

For applications requiring higher SPL output, such as those using the A-Series, J-Series, SL-Series, V-Series, M2 monitor, or B22-SUB, the installation-specific 30D amplifier is recommended.

The integrated DSP in the d&b Audiotechnik 10D Amplifier offers comprehensive loudspeaker management with switchable filters and customisable equalisation and delay. Each channel includes two 16-band equalizers, supporting parametric, asymmetric, shelving, or notch filters, plus delay options up to 10 seconds (equivalent to 3440 m / 11,286 ft). The 10D can be accessed via the d&b Remote network over Ethernet using the Open Control Architecture protocol (OCA) or CAN-Bus with RJ45 connectors. Control options include the integrated web interface, accessible via a browser, or d&b R1 Remote control software.

On the device, LEDs indicate power, input, data, and mute status. The d&b Audiotechnik 10D Amplifier’s LoadMatch function electrically compensates for cable properties, ensuring optimal performance with any loudspeaker cable type. Class D amplifiers with active Power Factor Correction (PFC) enable stable output across mains voltages of 100 V/127 V and 208 V/240 V (50 – 60 Hz), providing consistency even with weak or unstable power supplies. All input and output connectors are Euroblock sockets.

Input Routing
The 10D and 30D amplifiers provide four analogue inputs and four digital AES/EBU channels via two digital inputs, along with separate analogue and digital links, all on Euroblock connectors. Each digital input pair includes an independent Sample Rate Converter. With individual input gain controls on each input, sources with different output levels can be connected directly without the need for an external mixer. All eight inputs can be used simultaneously, allowing for summing and routing to any of the four output channels.

System Status Monitoring
d&b amplifiers are equipped with specific functions to check, monitor, and control a d&b system in installation environments. The System check feature assesses the status of the entire reinforcement system by measuring impedance across connected loudspeakers. Each driver is compared against the cabinet’s default impedance values to ensure performance within a tolerance range, alerting users to any potential component damage. Input monitoring can detect a pilot signal on any input, while Load monitoring automatically checks load impedance to identify possible loudspeaker malfunctions, calculating individual driver status and reporting any issues.

GPIO and General Fault Contact
The d&b installation amplifiers include separate Euroblock connectors for General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) and a fault contact. The GPIO connector offers five pins for additional digital control, configurable as either input or output. This flexibility allows external devices to control or monitor specific amplifier functions, such as powering the device, muting channels, switching AmpPresets, or checking mains voltage and channel status. The separate fault contact provides a remote indication of general device errors.

Integrated Web Interface
The D20, D80, 10D, and 30D amplifiers come with an integrated web interface for controlling individual amplifiers through a standard web browser. In smaller setups, this enables direct device control without requiring an R1 Remote control software file. The amplifier and computer connect to the same Ethernet network, and with a wireless access point, these amplifiers can also be controlled via mobile devices.
